Celtic play a draw against Rosenborg in Champions League
Celtic played a 0-0 draw against Rosenburg in the first-leg match of the Champions’ League third round qualifying on 26th of July.
There were many intriguing moments, but each of the teams failed to successfully execute many of their attacks during the play. Celtic’s goalkeeper, Craig Gordon made some crucial saves from Yan Erik de Lanlay’s and Eggen Hedenstad’s dangerous shots. Rosenborg tried to advance and break Celtic’s defence with Stuart Armstrong’s and James Forrest’s attempts, but it ended unsuccessfully.
Celtic were short on their top-notch strikers in this game with Tom Rogic creating the most chances. Leigh Griffiths wasn’t able to play due to a blow and Moussa Dembele won’t be able to come to the field until September, due to a hamstring injury.
Rosenborg led a tactical game in defending quite expertly, creating many chances. It looked at times that Celtic might cede to their opponents’ organised efforts, but the hosts weren’t an easy bait either preventing most of the incoming threat.
While Rosenburg seemed not to be very fierce in attacks, it might have been really angering to the home side that they couldn’t land a normal shot against the visitors’ keeper, Andre Hansen.
Gordon from the other side couldn’t allow himself to be distracted not for a second as Rosenborg’s attackers were making all their way towards the hosts’ defence.
It was a tough early season game for Celtic, but they might still show off a better performance in the second-leg encounter. If you’re sure that luck is gonna turn in their favour, why not try betting on the next Celtic game? This Unibet promo code will get you £30 to start betting with!
