Manchester City advance in the FA Cup by beating Huddersfield Town
Manchester United claimed victory in the FA Cup fifth round replay against Huddersfield Town, winning with a 5-1 score on 1st of March. They played 0-0 previously, but now City has gained the victory progressing to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
The visitors started in top spirit firing the opener with Bunn’s strike that went through keeper’s legs in the 7th minute. They managed to defend their side proficiently and maintain the score for the next 20 minutes, but their luck ran out after Leroy Sane equalized the score.
Sergio Aguero doubled the score after 5 minutes with his penalty, which was followed by Pablo Zabaleta’s goal 3 minutes afterward. Before the break, City managed to turn the odds in their favour.
In the second half, Aguero scored the fourth one from Raheem Sterling’s cross. Kelechi Iheanacho fired the fifth one in the additional minutes, sealing the victory for the home side.
Manchester City has high chances of obtaining this season’s FA Cup. Even if they remain outclassed by Chelsea in the Premier League, they are showing great results in the FA Cup moving in the last of eight for the first time since the previous time – four seasons before.
Even if they managed to overcome the early goal and win with such a score, there might be signs for Guardiola to worry about. The performance of the Chilean goalkeeper, Bravo, wasn’t the best, especially when he allowed the ball pass through his legs from Bunn’s shot. He bravely defended against Bunn’s second effort before half-time, however, hardly producing any impression on Guardiola.
